That was whicked!! ;D Loved every minuet of it. The venue and the decor was lush, well done to you guys that put in all that hard work over 3 days it truely paid off!! I think the music diversity was awesome. I think im the only person who enjoyed every set by every artist and DJ!! lol Atom Grinder really got the crowd goin didnt they!! Cuboid Atom were flippin metal, loved there crazy jumpin up and down as they played had me pure gigglin! Aural Envirometalist set would of been spot on if it hadnt of cut out every 5 minuets!! And Guano Unsane set was perfect for that morning vibe with that cheecky lil dubstep number he threw in there, got a propa wobble factor goin on there Thom So whens the next one??? cant wait!!!!

wow! we all really enjoyed this one, was much less stressfull having the 3 days to set up, and nice venue owners to work with. big big thanks and respect to the guys at the kazimier. we all worked rediculiously hard to pull this one off and it was worth every bit of effort! its funny how everyone i heard sayin they didnt like some of music, still said they had an amazing night...at the end of the day that is what we set out to achive, giving everyone an amazing fresh psychedelic party experience! we have ALWAYS said we think its much more important that people are REALLY blown away by some of the music, even if they REALLY dont like other parts....instead of thinking it was all OK. we are pushing the boundarys of what is possible with psychedelic parties. experimenting, trying new approaches and taking influence from every aspect of our lives. most of us by now know what generic psytrance sounds like. u can hear that at many other clubs in the country. when u come to soma sonic, leave your expectations at the door and open your minds to the sensory feast that is presented b4 u! u dont have to like it all, to have an awesome night!! at the end of the day we are one big family, but we all have different backgrounds and things that have inspired us and brought us to where we are 2day. our goal is bringing people of all ages and backgrounds together and showing them the diversity on offer in our amazing scene. I was a bit bewildered about the music tho....(as was everyone I came with, and a couple of people I spoke to).... Can I divulge/elaborate... .......dont wanna be seen to be winging, thats all xx Thanks again for a top party tho!! to be fair, how much of the music did u actually witness??....i didnt see u there till quite late and u left b4 the end. if anyones moaning about not liking 1 or 2 of the djs, then u are nit picking. there was was a total of 8 djs/live acts/bands on!!! there was something for everyone!!! i spoke to alot of different ppl about the music and i heard very mixed opinions on all the differnt parts of the night. which kind of proves my point. i loved it all! it was just a shame about the various sound problems we experienced. im sure we all realise that sometimes this cant be helped, and shouldnt be concidered as a reason for not liking the music!! i dunno maye it aint "just" a Psy night no more... i dissagree, all of the music tht was played i would concider fully psychedelic!!! in my opinion the music ceases to be psychedelic if it stays the same too long. so in that respect i think soma sonic is one of the most psychedelic nights there is! so yeah major respect to all who have supported us and appreciate what we have been trying to achive over the last 3 years. heres to many more!!! PLUR xxxx

WOWEEEEEE what a great night that place looked amazing well in to the decor crew, mind blowing as always :-*top venue, really lovely staff and the door crew were a pleasure, very professional and not at all in your face. As for that sexysoniapsyfairy you rocked, it was great to see you dancing out at last and blimey that pole provided many with some priceless entertainment Ash it was great to hear your rig it sounded sweet as mate, nice one The music was not my cup of tea on this occasion but as choo pointed out i knew it wouldn't be before i went out however due to me not being glued to the dance floor all night i had chance to catch up and have a right buzz with lots of people so was made up, for me the tunes were banging rather than psychedelic and i just found it hard to get lost in them and travel off on a psychedelic journey, but this is not a moan or a criticism, different strokes for different folks and if its a variety of music soma sonic is trying to promote then well in to you all you are succeeding :)I am sure you guys will always keep us on our toes. I am made up that you finished with such a funky band again !! that is such a refreshing way to end a night. Thanks choo for your hospitality throughout Sunday and you company on the door ( you make a lovely puppet) Thanks to all xx

what an amazing nite, amazing venue, setup, decor, visuals, cdjs, artists, & soundsystem.. totally the perfect running order aswell only downside was the peak of the bpm (aural environmentalist) having so many problems with his set, can't have everything though ace afterparty too i wholeheartedly agree with ryan+thoms approach to putting on nites and "sticking two fingers up" to convention and doing things their own way... keep up the good work and don't let the predictable moans and groans from people (who'd rather have a whole nite with no variation in the trance?) stand in the way of progress

to be fair, how much of the music did u actually witness??....i didnt see u there till quite late and u left b4 the end. I dint wanna go on, but as that seems a direct question! I'm not suprised you didnt see me until late.....you seemed pretty busy. (and I was stood at the back until I got a feel for the venue (Going by the lineup times you posted, I saw the whole of 4 acts, and a bit of wobbly squadren. ....nice people by the way. Had a good loooong chat with them about life the universe and everything i dissagree, all of the music tht was played i would concider fully psychedelic!!! in my opinion the music ceases to be psychedelic if it stays the same too long. so in that respect i think soma sonic is one of the most psychedelic nights there is! I rekon Nics explained it better than me, when she said the music just didnt allow her to ''travel on a psychedelic journey''... I concure with that.... keep up the good work and don't let the predictable moans and groans from people (who'd rather have a whole nite with no variation in the trance?) stand in the way of progress Yea I personally would like repetative beats all night (and day)...... (im not gonna go into it here, as I dont wanna destract from the top night and great atmosphere!!) .....but yea, please dont use negative words like ''moan''....no-ones having a moan, we're just saying what we prefer. (doesn't meen we didn't enjoy it, and as Nics said, its not ''critisism''..... Cheers again for a top night, and all the effort you guys put in.....and respect for trying something thats new to the north... Peace, C

Peace, C well yeah, id say u missed the stuff u would of enjoyed most then, (lloyd, vek, atomgrinder....although i would of thought ud of liked guano unsanes set, as i thought u would appreciate his fusion of dubstep & psytrance? u guys (strangedaze/uv hybrid) have dubstep and even breakcore at your next party...were atempting to bridge gaps between different genres and psytrance and present it all on 1 unified dancefloor. i tend to find at 2 room parties ppl just stick to the room they are most comfortable in. id say it would be fair to say this was the most "bangin" Soma Sonic yet and as we pick artists that stand out from the crowd for our lineups, never expect to hear exactly the same styles twice! who knows what we'll throw at ya next time! mu-ha-ha-ha-ha! (ps. got some nice melodic live acts in mind)

wouldnt want to bring any negativity to the forum Good. Glad we are on the same page. So lets leave it there yea u guys (strangedaze/uv hybrid) have dubstep and even breakcore at your next party... Not just next party mate... Nearly every club night we've done, has had alternative music in the back room. (we gotta be one of the only crews that can say we've had names like MoodDelux, Scorb, OOOD and the rest, playing in a room next to everything from commercial radio DJs to one of the UKs oldest DnB squat crews eh??) 10 years ago it was British, and we called it ''Jungle''... 5 years ago it was French and we called it ''HardTek'' ....now its back to British, and yea, its ''Breakcore''.... (when you REALLY get down to it, they are all VERY similar).....much like Full-On, and all the other sub categories of Trance, that are essentially variations/evolutions of the same thing. We went through a whole phase of trying to list all the styles of music we tried and cover....(anyone remember the Strange Daze Music Box flyers circa '05'?....they were STUPID, looking back....they had ''Goa-Psy-Tech-Prog etc etc''.....and, ''Dub-Breaks-Steppers-TripHop-Reggae etc etc etc.....''.... Now ive given up on the sub-genres (as much as possible), its a LOT easier.... were atempting to bridge gaps between different genres and psytrance and present it all on 1 unified dancefloor. i tend to find at 2 room parties ppl just stick to the room they are most comfortable in. Fair play.... I LOVE what you guys are trying to do...its something we used to do try and do at Jugglers Ball...although I rekon it was easier back then, as there were a LOT less ''sub genres'' and peoples tastes seemed a bit more simple (if that makes sense)....you could play Chris Liberator next to some KoxBox, and NO-ONE would bat an eye lid at the mix of blatant Acid Techno and oldschool Goa....(for example)... (wheras now...you'd get uproar!! hehe) ....(I guess i was just in the mood for Lloyds set, and was abit gutted I missed it)...Im sure if id got my stomping out the way at the beginning, it would have been a different story for the rest of the party. Like I have said here and elsewhere.....I fully respect what you are trying to do....But ive been there, and all it led to was grief from the snobby purists. ....I'd call it all techno if I had my way!!! (Ry...and if you think of yourself as different....remember how riled we both got when I refused to think of ''Full-On'' and different to ''Dark Psy''??) Peace mate yea?? Looking forward to the next one!!! and congrats again!!.... N ps- Just realised, that no-ones mentioned the locals. (the ones that are/were obviously hard-dance/house crew).......Most importantly guys (soma sonic crew)....I respect what you have done, for turning on a load of locals onto psychedelic vibes/partying.. Sure a lot of that side of people wont look at their regular nights in the same way again.... (which I guess links into your point of 2 rooms/most people staying where they are comfortable. Yea...ya right, but after Paradigm shift, I got 8 emails, from people who had never heard dubstep (especially not on the scale a dubstep purist like KEnEvil plays it)....They were Psy crew anyway, that REALLY had their heads turned. They emailed me to say cheers for opening them upto it. 8 people response nearly made me cry, but 1 email would have been ''job done'' in my humble opinion. See....sometimes its nice to give people the option, rather than slap em round the face... see if ''People stay where they are comfortable''.....at least everyones ''comfortable'' Irie edit> For spell check....

okay then 'predictable adverse reactions' .. is that better? wouldnt want to bring any negativity to the forum *ahem* ummmmm its not about moaning or criticism or adverse reactions, this is an arena where we as individuals can express our opinion openly and honestly altough we all love psy trance( and other styles of music) our tastes within the genre differ from one person to the next :)x

a massive thanks to all who made it down and participated in making the vibe so great... so many lovely people, I'm glad to have met many new faces and be reunited with old friends. to everyone who helped or contributed on any level you are all extremely appreciated. the set up/down was so smooth i really enjoyed the whole process (it helped we had 3 days to set up!) we are privileged to have been able to use such an amazing venue for this event and the kazimier staff were excellent to work with, all the way.
thanks to everyone who played, i enjoyed all the music all night (just a shame about a few of the little power problems but nothings perfect)
it was really nice to hear comments on the new music after my set, as half of it had never been played before, overall very happy with the response from the new styles coming out.. I'm really excited in the new directions in which its going. new tracks will be uploaded online soon... ;D
