Bio
Mindtrap has been writing electronic music for around 9 years, after discovering an appreciation for the trance music of the late 90s. Following a progression through hard dance, Mindtrap's focus is now on the darker vibes of Goa and psy-trance.
In late 2005 Mindtrap enjoyed a weekly residency with the Bradford squat party collective now known as SquatRot, but a forced hiatus was imposed on his music due to theft of the laptop computer that was the centre of his live and studio setup. After much soul searching during the year that followed, which he considered to be a period of personal awakening, Mindtrap has returned to writing, mixing and producing dark psy and bouncy party trance with a renewed vigour.
Mindtrap's live tracks are a pounding blend of psychedelia and tech-trance, stemming from many diverse musical influences. He loves the challenge of writing new flavours of music to satisfy the hungers of an open-minded party crowd, and enjoys collaborating with other musicians in the hope of further expanding musical consciousness.
Mindtrap is currently conducting an ongoing research project into trance music's relation with ecstatic dance and its effects on consciousness, with the end goal being to produce targeted musical pieces that work as tools for pscho-spiritual growth, development, and healing for the body-mind. In conjunction with these findings is the development of a uniquely controllable sequencer environment geared toward fully reactive live performance of trance-dance music.

Notes On The Tracks...
- Mindtrap's tracks are all offered for FREE DISTRIBUTION. This is because copyright or not I would fully expect them to end up being freely distributed anyway, as is the nature of our current .mp3 culture.
- None of the remixes/samples are officially cleared or paid for in any way and at the moment I do not intend to do either. Free music is a staple of the underground scene, which has always fed the mainstream music industry, and as an artist I would consider it a great compliment if my works were sampled and/or remixed by an underground artist for the love of art. By contrast I would consider myself a bit of a money-grabbing sell out if I demanded pay for the privilege from someone who couldn't afford it.
- Though I may have been the one to arrange these musical ideas in this particular way, if music belongs to anyone it is to whoever hears it.
And on that note, I hope you enjoy listening to my tracks as much as I have enjoyed making them =)
Hail Eris!
