Bez23s review for Revolve: Texas Faggott - Kininigin (Exogenic Records) As relentlessly unclassifiable as ever, Texas Faggott gatecrash a world of mundane disco bol***ks with an album to inspire. Kininigin, in it's scope, intention and execution is epic, like a steroidal Juno Reactor fritzing out on some new, untested stimulogen. If you've ever muttered "where's the innovation, where's the psychedelia?" then you need this. While plain old crap continues to be heretically paraded as PSYtrance, Suomisaundi quietly continues to hone it's skills and gain acceptance as a genuine option for those seeking party music that thrills. There's guitars, fiddles, haunting weirdy Japanese vocals, dead ends, trap doors, humour, grandiose synths, false walls and samples that don't make sense wrapped up in 5-6 minute bundles of steamrollering funk insanity. Early tracks are refreshingly balls-out nonsense-mongers, but the album gradually settles down to business with genuinely diverse psychedelic dance music. What the world needs, in one neatly packaged release from Exogenic.
