i don't think i'm gonna make this one, £10 last time was fine, scorb was playing but not paying that every time what there are now only 4 or 5 Res's in a year and it has been about £8 to get in for 6 hours of the finest Psy Trance. if indeed it has stayed a tenner to get in, the price hasnt gone up per hour as now you are getting 2 more hours of the finest Psy Trance ! sorry thats just crazy talk boy DD

so is not using any of the money to invest in to more decor, crazy stalls and a dancing giraffe. now it is my opinion on the matter and it seems to me res is more for the money than the constantly evolving parties. sorry if i offend anyone with what i'm saying but when i go to a party i've been to before i like to see new things as well as hear them.

Your right, it is your opinion, but before voicing it on a public forum, you need to know some history and all the facts before passing judgment. When it was announced that Res was going for good, there was a huge response of shock and sadness, am sorry you need different coloured pictures to look at each time you go, but I was under the impression people primarily where going for the tunes and to hook up with like minded people. Its no secret that Res is close to my heart and I for one think we are lucky that after all this time we can still go. This event has seen off some major nights in Liverpool, including Cream ! If the decor ain't changing is the price we have to pay, then I'm not complaining. Don't forget the people who put Res on are slightly older than the people who put Soma Sonic on, and they just don't have the time to spend like the yougens do ! DD

yes but that is totally irrelevant to what i was saying dave. i know res is loved by many people and it is about the atmosphere, connections and the tunes. and pictures don't generally have to be coloured, i look at a lot of work like eschers and that doesn't have colour. when i say decor, i mean something that when you walk in to the zanzibar you're like woah wtf i'm impressed! i love the res decor but surely wouldn't having more new decor of such standard make it even better. and yes res has seen off some club nights like cream but it also tried to prevent other nights in the liverpool area happening (not naming names) and finally they may be older but you are how old you want to be. and they can have the time if they organise it and use it efficiently to do what they're doing. i'm someone who is for forever evolving parties and that's why i got drawn to the psychedelic environment because it's one in which is constantly expanding and bringing something new for your mind to go blady nora to anyway this is how i feel on the situation but i'm still projecting good vibes to you all and hoping everyone has one crazy night!

I think you are taking the odd thing I say too literally especially about the coloured pics, I was trying to get a point across and you have missed it which is easily done on a forum. What I have said is totally 100 % relevant to this issue. to be honest mate I don't think you have understood what I have tried to explain, I'm not blaming you it might be the way I'm explaining it on here. We had a good chat at Soma Sonic so I know you have brain cells. Basically you want res to be very different each time that you go, and because it ain't you don't think its worth the extra £2. My son has more than that in his piggy bank ! That was the issue you started with and it has seemed to have grown, If you want to discuss this further then I will be happy to but I feel we will go round in circles on here. The bottom line is that we are lucky to have Res at all, and you want more not knowing how close we where in loosing it in the first place. As you get older, you are glad you have chickens to count

yeah it is hard expressing one's feeling on a matter without discussing it in person as things can be taken out of proportion just personally i'd like to see new things and i will still go to res' but not as much as i don't have much money and for myself £10 is a bit harsh it is a blessing to have parties such as res and soma so close to home but with the ever expanding turn outs maybe they could lower the price or add something new to the party like a dancing giraffe or a llama on laughing gas. i know they've got it in them

heh a dancing giraffe or a llama on laughing gas ? The ZB isn't the biggest of places, and on some nights its hard to move, so havin a giraffe dancing would be hard to squeeze in. but sayin that I like the fact its compact its more cozy and feels more like ya front room Believe me Seddon, I know where ya comin from, but I feel you are struggling to see where I am comin from. The next time we meet am sure you will understand goodnight ! DD

. . . i think the point seddon is trying to make is that £10 is too expensive for him, when there is no evidence of improvements to the aliens technology, or any charitable cause being aided. i like the alien paintings, but it has come to the point where by i go in and i feel no sense of fresh creativity other than hanging them in different posisitions. at the end of it all tho alien res is Just a club night, its been happening a long time and people enjoy it. for a 'club' its pretty good. but i hate clubs! if you feel you need a better hit than whats on offer to the public . . . you need to search deeper realms

don't forget it costs more to have a club for longer, those bouncers dont work for free and nore do the bar staff. do you really expect more time for free ??

well...to clear up a few things here..... ive orgsanised alien for over 8 years now, and if one thing is for certain, something that doesnt fund itself it wont last a tenth of that time.... the cost of getting into alien resonance has gone up £3.50 in 8 years, and even when we did our first birthday party all nighter in le bateau it was £10 in.... as far as the 'alien technology', well the decor we use fits our theme perfectly....thats what we are about.. there is no doubt that 'funds' have gone into the sonic side of things, bringing cutting edge artists and djs from all around the world....i dont really care if people think thats a commercial approach and we (the alien crew) are in it for the money...maybe its because that doesnt fit into some idealistic hippy-esque trance cliche that parties should be free, man....at the end of the day, somone has to foot the bill for it otherwise these things just die off....i mean, its a party for fooks sake!! fun, u know?!
