1) Anything funky/uplifting, from proggie psy to full on
2) DJ Whirling Dervish
3) Lee Sexton
4) I have been djing since around 1994, never anything serious always just for friends at parties etc. I started getting into early goa stuff with the platipus label. I have been playing serious for a couple of years now playing online radio every week for Newtechpirates and also at events in Scotland which unfortunately are a bit short on the ground (only 2 nights up here I know of and played at both). I was really into the acid trance scene in the late 90's early 2000's but unfortunately this died out, it is then that I found psy trance again and found it very similar to acid trance in a lot of ways. I love the psy scene, love the vibe love the music. I play more an uplifting/funky sound, bouncy, makes me smile....The DJ name came from the Dervishes, nothing religious, just love the idea they dance themselves into a trance without the use of drugs and I suppose that explains me too, I dance and dance until am in a trance, even behind the decks! Am always on the lookout to play somewhere new, I play for travel expenses, just love playing the music I love and others seem to respond to on the dancefloor
5) I wouldn't like to say I have a favourite label but if I was to say any it would probably be Platipus just for the reason it inspired a lot
6) God, top 10 tunes, it's always changing at the moment one of them is Ital "Amazonia"
7) Random, Edinburgh and Soundscape, Inverness
8) Mixes here: soundcloud.com/whirling_dervish and also find them on max99.libsyn.com/ (back to goa)
