Arkaos is a VJ platform you can place clips, pictures live footage and then add effects onto those data sources. It will also sync the graphics with the music (Resoulme on the PC is better but if you a mac head like me you can't get it) I would suggest you create your video clips , master them using priemier,Poser/Cleaner then import them in resoulme and Roberts ya Father's Brother. Tomos can help ya with resoulme stuff , you can get manual on the arkaos site for arkaos (http://www.arkaos.net) EL C

agh so they dont actually generate effects, like psychadelic visuals, fractal art etc that u can put to the music, they have nothing built in, u need to make ur own and add effects?
hmm if thats so no time for that, i htought it was a more advanced tool similar to music 2000 where u can create quick digital art that moves to your music, you know like those old crazy rave videos with the spinning shapes, lava bubbles etc.

it's a very advanced program that will do all of that, but gives u the option to add new effects, build ur own effects, import ur own footage, chage how it works to the music, work it to the music urself, it puts the vj in as much control as the dj .....but if ur looking for something that will just go off on its own that u just click "go" and get on with the music side of things then i suggest "G-force" it is a plug-in for media player/i-tunes or from an audio input, and it generates i-tunes/media player style visuals, but of a much higher standard whilst also giving u a bit of control if u want it

If you want to start out simple, but also provides the bridge to more "advanced" programs later on, I find winamp's AVS the tool for the job. Does all the lava stuff, with a 101 presets, and has an extremely simple interface that lets you play around with them, as well as writing your own.

lol Well I use a lot of software, but mostly resolume, with a little winamp either side of the set (as it can real-time processes avi's). I also do my own CGI graphics e.g. 3d stuff. My line of work is currently setting up a DVD label, working to release two DVD's, one psy-trance, one chillout in the next couple of months, and Vj'ing professionally at psychedelic gatherings (for the last seven years). What do you do? (not meant sarcastically!!)

Das produkt is due sometime when I finish extracting it from my head. And it seems to have very much a life of its own. But before the summer I guess, just wish these animations didn't take so long to render, I mean 10 days for 5 minutes animation!!!
El C. you are too kind, my ego's gone all fluffy!

pretty similar to b honest yodhe, tho not as accomplished yet. Using resolume to manipulate the combined efforts of my short animations and my uni house mate's film footage, in the process of trying to set up a studio with him at the moment where we can start getting really indepth, we already have a broadcasting level dv cam/ 10 studio lights and chroma-key software, aswell as the ever expanding vj equipment +computers etc....only just finished uni in june tho, so we r mearly opening the door at the moment. I am also a fine art/ illustrator trying to get some pennies where i can to cover equipment....and my day job managing a coffee shop in Betws-Y-Coed......so pretty busy, trying to find time for it all is difficult. would be keen 2 see what ur up 2 sumtime when ur VJing
