'Desperado' lager is CLEARLY the way forward!!! (ask Lorraine i can remember finding with her in the 'supermarche' we both nearly fell over! mark and i managed to fit nearly 60 bottles of dishlish-i-oh-so fallover wine juice in our car. which if any one had actually seen our car leaving france trance 1, was incredible really. i think the term we found for this style of packing was 'INCA PACKED' kind of like the inca buildings not even a knife blade would fit between the stones. floor to ceiling, with little pod shapes for 3 humans. thankfully one of them was only four! xx cheryl

Hi ya, this site is brill - www.seat61.com/France.htmtheres loads of clickable links for info. on Eurostar , TGV - the 186mph high speed French train ,connecting trains from other u.k. cities, booking tips, timetables ,a link about "taking your bike" and a you tube vid of TGV travel. As the booking site says - Eurostar journeys are now carbon neutral at no extra cost to yourself You can only book 90 days in advance for the French trains, so its no wonder you werent gettin much joy before . Speak to you at the weekend bout it all ...

i dont think we will be able to make it this year. had a fantastic time with everyone last time, and hope to do it again for sure, but this time is not so easy for us, the concept of cycling and train is groovy, but is something im visioning for future experiences,, ill never say never, who knows what might happen between now and then! ill go where the path unfolds, but right now its not on the radar, best of luck with everything, our thoughts will be with you throughout. and people,, if its in the same location as last year, dont miss the opportunity to walk to the waterfall as it is mind-bendingly beautiful! and well worth all the cuts and scratches getting there...

Got to agree with Buttons' green credentials, the train is the way to go, does the train have a 'carbon offset' option when you buy a ticket like the plane does? Personally, the 1,000-odd trees I've cultivated on my smallholding in the past 3 years consume more than enough Co2 to cover everyone going to the party, so we can all relax on that score. I've 650, two to three yr-old Pinus Pinea trees I've been trying to give away for months with no takers, not only lock-in the Co2, but the pine seeds are edible as well, anyone got room to plant them? In the spirit of the vibe they are free...just collect them and plant them...
Love n Kisses Bill
